Stroke Winter School

Empowering Interdisciplinary Excellence in Acute Stroke Care

The 13th ESO-ESMINT-ESNR Stroke Winter School will continue the tradition of uniting young stroke physicians and interventional neuroradiologists to promote interdisciplinary collaboration in the management of acute ischaemic stroke. As diagnostic and therapeutic tools evolve, stroke care is becoming increasingly complex – requiring fast, well-coordinated decisions grounded in both clinical insight and advanced imaging. This course will provide a unique educational platform to meet these demands.

The upcoming edition will feature a carefully curated mix of expert-led lectures, interactive tutorials, and hands-on workshops. Participants will train in small groups, developing essential technical skills such as endovascular techniques. Tutorials will focus on key topics including advanced imaging, thrombectomy, complication management, case discussions – including morbidity and mortality sessions. This format will foster a constructive learning environment that encourages open dialogue and shared experiences.

In addition to covering core stroke topics like thrombolysis and thrombectomy, the curriculum will explore emerging areas such as cerebral venous thrombosis, intracranial hemorrhage, and strategies for managing TIAs and minor strokes.

We look forward to welcoming participants to Bern for the 13th ESO-ESMINT-ESNR Stroke Winter School, scheduled for 27–30 January 2026.
If you are interested in attending, we encourage you to register in pairs – a neurologist and a neuroradiologist – to fully benefit from the interdisciplinary format.
